How to easily fix the Google Nexus One 3G connectivity problems

Nexus One

Most of you might have been facing 3G connectivity problems with your new Google Nexus One. Mostly customers’ on T-Mobile network in US are facing this strange issue where 3G drops and most times even when you have good connectivity to the tower and you end up being on the slower EDGE for considerable time.

So, here are a few steps by which you can change a few settings in your Google Nexus One so that it has a better 3G connectivity.

  • Goto “Settings” from the “Wireless & Networks” option.
  • Hit for the option called “Mobile Networks” which is almost at the fag end of the listings.
  • The following screen has an option called “Network Operators” hit it.
  • Now your Google Nexus One will begin to search for all GSM networks in your area.
  • Once that is done you’ll see all the GSM network’s including your own (either T-Mobile or AT&T in US).
  • Next to it you will find an option to set “Select Automatically“, hit that and the Nexus One will come up with a message “Registered on network”.

Well, that’s exactly it.

Now you’ll find your Google Nexus One go from the slower EDGE to the much faster 3G network whenever it is available. Not sure what the bug is with Android but this methods works so well that you can enjoy the 3G speeds at most of the time.
