What’s the “Cannot RESTORE, ERROR 3200″ on your updated iPhone iOS 5?
It’s now over 24hours eversince apple released the iOS 5 for the masses and I have been spending the last 8hours attempting to update my iPhone4 to iOS 5 with no luck – I think I’ve finally given up.
In the last 8 hours I have downloaded the new OS twice and backed up my 10 or so gigs in my iPhone, and both attempts have culminated in failure. Adding insult to injury, the second time it happened (after a hefty download) my freshly blanked iPhone went into Restore limbo. Luckily I am back to my old faithful iOS 4.3.3 and the gevey sim – such a relief!!
Well my own particular woes are not, and I feel an isolated incidence. One of the current trending topics on twitter is the sinister-sounding ‘Error 3200’, which refers to one of the most common messages folks are getting when attempting to update.
The error code (and the others from the same family like 3014 – yes, I’ve had them all) appears to refer to a routing problem going by the Apple’s support page, but it’s more likely that the servers are being hammered by countless iPhone, iPod, and iPad users all desperate to get their hands on the latest OS. Though this is my wild guess but seems very substantial.
If you’re on the fence about whether to upgrade now – well my personal advice would be to wait until this weekend(just two days away) when, I hope either Apple upgrades the bandwidth on it’s upodate servers or most of the early adopters are done with their update by then. I am hoping for a very smooth up and running on iOS5 this weekend.
